Food & Nutrition
We provide food choices that contain the best nutrients offering a healthy balanced diet, not only supporting health food choices but supporting brain development and optimal growth. With our vegetarian menu being designed collaboratively with our child nutritionist and on site Chef our menu choices are endless… including letting our children get involved in creating their own culinary delights!
What meals do you offer children?
Our in-house team, Theresa and Chef are qualified nutritionist & dieticians who collaborate to create a well-balanced menu with the correct amount of food for each child’s age, stage and development. We can accommodate all diets & special dietary requirements, offering a balanced mix of vegetarian and home cooked meals. Our menus are refreshed each half term.
My child is a fussy eater, what will happen if he/she doesn’t eat?
If a child refuses to eat what is being served, we will always offer an alternative, but we will first persist in encouraging them to try new foods. Our experience and evidence show that children often need to try new foods up to 7-10 times before they become familiarised to the change in taste & texture, so don’t be dismayed if it takes a little time. Children are great influencers, so children within a setting that may not have eaten or tried a food type previously will be excited to see what their friend is eating….
My child is still breast fed, how will this work?
Expressed milk can be provided daily or provided frozen which will be kept on site.
Do you provide infant formula?
Due to there being many formulas available and personal preferences we do not provided formula. However, you can provide a unopened carton, clearly named for your children.
Can you accommodate a halal diet?
We can indeed, all of our settings are vegetarian and halal free.
Do you support the weaning transition?
Yes, of course. Our team will support with any transition, you guide us on which approach that you have chosen at home and we will follow your lead.
My child has an allergy, how will you cater for this?
Upon registration the team will discuss any allergies and dietary requirements. These are then documented and highlighted on our inhouse system. Details are then shared with the Chef and room staff. Should you advised of any allergy you will be asked to complete a Medical/Allergy health questionnaire, which will be distributed accordingly. This will be refreshed every 3 months. We ask that should there be a development family are to advise in writing as soon as possible. If your child requires medication due to the allergy or have an EpiPen, they must be prescribed by your Doctor and labelled.
Are your nurseries nut free?
We cannot guarantee that our settings are completely free of any specific allergens however non our meals contain nuts.
